My unit is a year old and now they are offering an upgrade for better functionality. There website now includes an instant check for upgrade recommendtation. Simply enter your unit's serial number. I entered my seriel number and they say I can upgrade to their latest model for $189. New upgrade unit is 1/4" smaller, lighter, better Ka, Ku (European Band) and generation 3 Laser. I guess this is the new model being sold.

V1 also told me that it is probably not cost effective to upgrade for the added performance.
