replacing breadbox

Default replacing breadbox

Has anyone replaced the breadbox, on a C4, with a dvd screen. If so pics please,thanks Jim.

I am sure it can be done.

thinking off the top of my head, I would start with some 1/4" thick MDF, then cut into a space for the monitor.

coat the MDF in fibreglass resin to give it some strength, then upolster it with something nice.

you could also use 1/8" abs and fuse the monitor casing to that, paint it and then bolt it the same way that the breadbox was secured to the car.

i think either way would work well. just a question bogus. why the resin? i think 1/4" mdf would be plenty strong. is that just to seal it from moisture? I've used 1/8" birch plywood and it held a monitor nicely.

to start with, I am not sure how one is going to replicate the mounting of the bread box... it's screwed in from behind, so it would require adhering tabbie things to it...

as for the resin, it would make it stronger, and less prone to moisture damage.
