Anyone familiar with Zed modified amps?
In particular, ESX G-series? I understand these are somewhat "old school" and have great specs. Are modern ones just as good within its price range...sub $500? thx.

Zed Audio = Stephen Mantz, right? Oh well... the old ESX amps weren't modified by him, but designed by him. He designed amps for lots of folks over the years. Hifonics, Planet Audio, ESX, US Acoustics, Autotek, Rodek, Lanzar... I don't know which year models were his designs though. His life story is on his web site if your interested. Last I heard he had his own line of amps and people were really talking them up when they first came out (2004ish). www.zedaudio.com Check it out. If you like the way they look they are nicely built, and fairly cheap for the quality you get.
