I was thinking about going with JL amps. My installer swears by mcintosh equipment. I swear its more expensive . Anyone have first hand expirience with mcintosh products? Thoughts comments opinions Please. Thanks....Mark Sixty4.

McIntosh = boutique. Kinda like shopping at Neiman Marcus. Nice, but way up the diminishing returns curve. I think you would be better served spending the differential in price on better drivers or maybe sound processing equipment, or even a new cam to help your car keep up with all the extra sound equipment weight.
Maybe in a studio you could hear the difference, but in a car while driving... no way. From my experience switching amplifiers is the most expensive and controversial way to improve the sound in you car.
The most important thing is getting something that will last. I had 2 infinity amps that didn't last me 2 years before they quit. Now I've got a bunch of 10+ year old PPI amps that are still rocking. JL's will survive the long haul.
