Default Garmin GPS in C5

I have a 2003 vert with CD but no CD changer

I am trying to connect a Garmin GPS/XM radio to the Aux input of the radio,
From reading the forum I believe that I need these 3 items,.
COR-HAR
GM AUX-10
6' stereo to RCA cable

My questions are

Where are the 3 & 4 Pin connectors in passenger footwell that COR-HAR plugs into ??
Does the GM AUX-10 then plug into the COR-HAR??
Are all the connections done in the footwell meaning that I do not need to get to the back of the radio?
If I make this connection correctly and select the AUX position on the radio will the Garmin then work with all the radio controls.

Thanks

just so you are aware. you wont be able to listen to anything but the garmin when in aux mode and you wont be able to listen to the gps when in anything but aux mode. there is no 'mixing' ability in hwat you are doing. and i've never heard of any stereo being able to control a gps unit so i'm not sure what you're trying to do is even an option at all

This is where the two AUX "port" plugs are located (I have an 04 Z but it should be the same for your 03 Vert):

Kick panel removed exposing the passenger side fusebox (the colored wires that you see on the far right, those are the plugs):

Closeup of the AUX plugs:

The one that you see in the far background (in the middle of the pic), you should be able to locate that one very easily.

The second one, however, is a PITA to locate (in the second pic, it's the one that has three colored wires: orange, green, and black/white).

Mine was taped up loosely against the harness that you see with black electrical tape (you'll need to unravel the tape to expose the wires and get the plug out into view). But be careful here; I would suggest NOT using any cutting tools so as not to damage the wires; I was able to unravel the tape by hand once I figured it all out . The plug/connector itself was tucked out of view all the way to the right behind the carpeting and the plastic panel.

So if your AUX plugs have not been disturbed since leaving the factory, it will NOT look exactly like what you see in the pic (no exposed wires anywhere)...

One end of the COR-HAR will connect to BOTH of the AUX plugs. The other end of the COR-HAR will connect to the AUX GM-10 (I believe).

And you are correct, you should NOT have to go near the back of the factory head unit for what you are trying to do

One last note, since you have an 03 Vert, you may have the COR-HAR already prewired to the trunk (I've heard that some Coupes and Verts may have been prewired at the factory for the 12-disk CD-changer even if they didn't come with the changer itself). You may want to check...

Larry

I understand what you are saying and agree. My wording however was not the best. I am not asking the radio to control the Garmim just if all of the radio controls will work when it is receiving from the AUX I assume that they will but never know unless I ask

Larry,

Thanks, Everything was exactly the way that you show it. Even the PITA plug was only held on with a small piece of masking tape.
I doubt that I have the COR-HAR in the trunk as both of these plugs are unused.
