Default c6 1SB HU change

I just bought an '05 convert and the wife wants me to change the head unit to a Pioneer AVIC-Z1. The car is a 1SB with the six disc radio, not the nav unit. I don't where to find the required sensor wires such as the VSS and reverse signal. Anyone have the radio pin out or BCM pin out info? I seem to remember reading that the NAV unit has the VSS wire in the harmess, would the six disc 1SB have the wire in it and it just wouldn't be used. Any help with wiring would be appreciated.

This write-up by Audio Dave should help you alot - he shows in great detail where to find the VSS.

That thread along with alot of others that are full of good info are listed in the C6 Audio FAQ stickied at the top of this page.

Thanks for the reply. I an concerned that the 1SA and 1SB might be too much different. However, at this point that is what I am trying to find out.

The difference between 1SA and 1SB is the amps & speakers. The wiring harnesses are the same. I do believe he makes mention of a difference between '05 and '06 in relation to the VSS.. I can't remember which it is he did.

The ECM, or Engine Control Module is different between 2005 and 2006. The ECM is the computer module located in the passenger front fender, directly below the battery, accessible by removing the inner fender as shown in my write-up.
The biggest difference is that the 2005 had 3 different color plugs going into the ECM, whereas, in 2006, they changed Transmissions, and therefore the electronics, and the new ECM, and went with a new 2 plug setup, both plugs being black. The wire is still the same, just in a diiferent plug between 2005 and 2006.
I can't remember right off the top of my head which pin in the 2005 models the VSS wire is in, but I know I have the info somewhere... let me see what I can dig up... in the meantime, if anyone else remembers, feel free to chime in...
