c6 questions
the place i went today obviously wanted to make some money. they store i went to today steered me in the direction of doing tweeters in the door where the 3"mids are, replace the 10 in woofers w/ morel subs in the door and replace the rears w/ some cheaper 5 1/4 2 ways. then they would add a AUDISON 4 channel amp to run all the speakers in which this particular amp accepts high level inputs direct from the head unit. no need for line converters. w/ install they wanted $1900.00. the 2 subs alone were quoted at $750.00. i thought this was quite expensive. the only nice thing is that there would be no need for a sub enclosure in the rear.
what are your thoughts? other than price, is morel and audison good quality parts?
The weakest link in the chain is the one you will soon break off the chain and replace.... (ancient chinese proverb... )

Also they obviously don't know the C6 at all because there are LOW level outputs available from the back of the head, there's no amplification done at the head unit so there's no high level signal to be had there. While I worked around the factory head because I went factory NAV after falling prey to the siren song of NAV HUD integration, if I had to do it all over again I'd do as these Chinese philosophers above suggest
and start from scratch, including a new head unit.4 channel amp is a good start, but instead of a tweet and a sub in the door I'd go with your original plan of a 6.5" component setup in the door, decent 5.25" coaxials for rear fill and some sort of sub in the back.
