Ok, so I decided to take a drive tonight and push the new system a little bit since I didnt want to hear the neighbors complain. I mean, the only way to really check out your setup is to push it a litle bit yes ? I set the gains basically to stop muddying up/distortion at HU volume level of 27 (out of a max 35).

Five minutes of pushing the system at vol 25 the heat buildup in the amp was a bit surprising. It was not only warm, but really warm. Dropped the drivers window and let the cool Northwest air rush in, comfortable, not cold, and it helped tremendously cool the amp.

Ive got to say though, I am absolutely tickled at the quality of sound from these Balupunkt's. Keep in mind these same speakers/amp/sub setup came out of a full size Chevy 2500HD. Slightly different environment. The major difference with the sub is I went from a downfiring box with less than desireable volume to a stealth box with appropriate volume and firing up to the top of the rear hatch.

The heat issue concerns me a bit, but, it should be fine as long as I don't hammer on it too much

naturally some amps are warmer then others. I have a Polk 4 channel and it likes to run warm its the nature of the beast, I have an elemental designs mono block i run 1200wrms + through it and it stays damn cool

I dont think it will become a major problem. At volume lvl 25 on the HU, my ears will start bleeding in short order. Although, the sound is absolutely amazing at 25

Buy one of these. They are made of steel:

I have one on my 10" sub and can throw boxes, crate of parts, tool box, etc around in the back and it holds up really well, plus looks cool

man, after seeing the behind the seat installs, I think im going to break down and just do that again. I used to have mine behind the seats, but moved them to the upper deck so I could adjust them more often.

Slick looking grill. I am probaboly going to remove the amp and place it on the back wall of the hatch area. I lost a full 3inches, maybe a tad more, of seat travel on the pass side. For now it's fne, but I will move it in the future. Something about being able to stretch out, at least more than I can now, when I am actually riding and not driving.
