does anyone happen to know where i can get a speaker mounting plate for the doors of the C5?... the only place ive seen is corvettecaraudio.com but they havent answered their phone all day...
im looking to do the install really soon and thats the only thing holding me back...
any help would be great!!!
all you need is a jigsaw and a drill with a drill bit and a half sheet of 1/4 mdf or fiberboard.
borrow the tools and buy the 5 dollar fiberboard or buy a 30 dollar jigsaw, 30 dollar drill, 2 dollar bit and 5 dollar fiberboard and in about an hour, including taking the door panels off, youll have your own plate. plust youll have some new tools.
quick tip, it doesnt have to look pretty at all because it going to be hidden, the mounting bracket for the stock bose, unbolt the bose speakers and trace that bracket on the fiber board. there's your template and then use the circle cut out that comes with your speakers to cut the circle. if it did not come with a cutout, do some math and cut or get the holding piece of cardboard that every speaker comes with, trace and your set.
not at all. just nobody has posted one DPG's method seems to be the best method of doing it though. (not sure that the template would fit on a 8.5x11" sheet of paper)
just another speaker adaptor option. The C5 example is on the C5 install off the main page. These are machined with 1/32" of the facotry speaker and Will match up perfectly with the factory mounting holes, no drilling or modification required. http://www.jmlaudio.com/custom%20speaker%20adaptors.htm

this way seriously took me 5 min to do. If you are **** about how the plate looks and you want it to match the contours of the stock, then tracing it this way is pretty easy. You dont have to worry about whether the stock speaker moved or not. I went out and bought a little cut out tool for my dremel and i was able to cut it out pretty quick too.
i do agree that it sucks that the template is a little bigger than a piece of paper.

I have to call for details for a price? Does everyone get the same price? How about a posting it here?
