I'm looking to replace my 4 channel Profile amp that I've only had for a few months.
The audio from it has become glitchy at times and although the power from it is great 85X4 @ 4 ohms and 225x1 for the sub, I want an amp that is more reliable with the same power.
I've been Leaning towards an Alpine MRP-F450 so, far. Thanks
the profile aint a bad bang for the buck but most amps will be an upgrade. IMO the alpines arent bad, check out the Phoenix gold Octant R8.0:4, elemental designs nine.4, infinity 7541a i believe is there big 4 channel it does 111X4 wrms @4ohms. Kicker has some nice 4 channels as well. Whats ur budget?
The Profile amp was great until just recently, the audio cuts out very frequently when first turned on after being off a few hours and then after it warms up (about 10 minutes) it's more stable.
I'm using 2 channels to power a set of 5 1/4" Infinity Kappa components for the front so, I'd like at least 80 watts rms @ 4 ohms for each side to power these speakers.
The Phoenix Gold Octane R8.0:4 amp is really nice!
Pioneers new Premier line with ICE technology by Bang& Olufsen are pretty nice amps. I bought 2 of them. Have not instlled them yet. The 4 channel is the PRS-D4000F. I also bought the PRS-D2000T for my sub. I've only heard them in a store. It was enough to sell me.
Its a great amp for the money and it will be way nicer then the profile (not saying its bad). DPG on the board runs one to his comps and subs and is very happy with it and ive used it in a few cars
I've got it and so far it seems good and doesn't generate any heat but it's hard to compare amps unless you swap them back-to-back in your car with all other components the same (impractical). My guess is that in this low price range the HU and speakers are more significant than the amp.

Looks like I'll be getting the Alpine MRP-F450 amp since the Phoenix Gold R8.0:4 amp is a little too big to fit behind the passenger seat where I'm thinking of relocating the amp.
I just bought and installed an Eclipse EA4000 4 channel amp.
It's 75x4 @ 4 ohms or bridged at 150x2 @ 4 ohms plus it's CEA-2006 compliant rated at 0.05% THD and 100db signal to noise ratio. I decided against the Alpine amp because I didn't like the location of the crossover adjustments.
I'm using the front channels to power the 5 1/4" Infinity Kappa's and the rear channel bridged to power a 10" Bazooka tube.
After setting the gains and crossover frequencies using instructions I printed here from member Focal, this amp sounds very clean!
