Fuzz buster- I remember my dad had one the size of a brick. It lived in a tissue box on the dash!

Yea, I also remember the original Fuzz Buster. It was a brand name that was hugh and kinda shaped like an octogan torpedo. It picked up radar and of course everything else. The old man had one in the 70s.

You Greybeards are showing your age. :

The original which I believe is in the first photo, was said to be concealable beneath an empty Kleenex box which you could place on the dash.

Lots of Valentine 1 supporters here. I am sure it is top notch. However, I researched all of the testing done and reported through various web sites and determined the Beltronics RX65 was rated as well or better than the V1 in almost every category. Plus, I was able to get a great deal on a brand new one on ebay. Then.... I went to vettemods.com and got a visor screw mount, and went to invisicords and picked up an invisicord and put it all together for a nice clean install. So far, I have saved myself 4 or 5 tickets!! You can't go wrong with either of these "fuzz busters."

Might want to read this about that Invisicord and the Escort.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1523598

Don't they make Bel detectors too, and aren't the Bel and the Escort nearly identical radar detectors?

Well, if it craps out, I will throw the sucker away and get something else. So far, so good though.....and the reviews were all very good! I do like it and it has saved my bacon several times so far. I am not sure what the difference is between plugging in a lighter socket, and turning on the ignition would be. Seems either way, you gotta throw the juice to the little sucker. Thanks for the info though!

Check out invisicord. Plugs into your wiring on the back of your rear view mirror. 30 second job. Great product.

okay gentlemen, thanks for all your advice. I like that mirror mount and visor mount too. I guess I was showing my age with the old term fuzz buster! How about "keep out of jail detector instead"?
