Default Need Advice / Opinions - System Replacement

Hi guys, I'm kind of a noob when it comes to car stereos, I've never really had a nice system except for an Alpine HU that got stolen 15 years ago. But I got this long now commute and music helps. I mostly listen to Alternative/Rock/80's, but occasionally HipHop. Here is what I am considering purchasing, but I'd like to hear what you guys think.

HU: PIONEER Premiere 9800BT
SPEAKERS Front: Infinity Kappa 5-1/4 or save $ and get Polk Audio db5250
SUB Encloser Probox

SUB's /AMP: Need Suggestions / Opinions

MTX T5510-04 10" 600W 4-Ohm Subwoofer
Rockford Fosgate P210S4 10" 400W 4-Ohm Subwoofer
Phoenix Gold Xenon X10D2 10" 800W Dual 2-Ohm Subwoofer (wire in Series = 4-Ohm?)
Infinity Reference 1040w 10" 1000W 4-Ohm Subwoofer

Phoenix Gold Octane-R 8.0:4 4 Channel Amp
125W x 4 (4 ohm stereo)
400W x 2(4 ohm bridged) Can I just bridge 2 Channels, I don't think the components need 400W? So it would be:
125W x 2
400W x 1 If this makes sense?

My budget for this system is 1300 for system and 200 for Lighted HU mounting kit, amp wire kit, SoundGate's GMACC (RAP), Antena adapter, stereo wire harness and MDF C5 Front Speaker Plates.

Thanks, I look forward to your input.

I have all sorts of sugestions I can make to you I will come on later and post when I have more time. First thing 6.5's up front is what you should go with they fit no problem. Polk DB IMO rape the infinity kappas I think they are way smoother sounding. Check out cdt the CL61s can be had for 140 dollars and are a killer speaker.

Ok first off the soundgate isnt necessary unless you want the RAP otherwise you dont need it. The amp is a great amp to go with for what you are doing. For wiring checkout knukonceptz.com I would also recommend some sort of sound deadening check out edesignaudio.com and search forum look for edead put some in the door it will help your sound.

corvettecaraudio.com aka audio dave makes a kick *** box might even be less expensive but idk.

Now for subs of what you listed the MTX is the nicest but if you are looking for something really kick *** look into the elemental designs 11kv2 or diamond audio D6 (on sale at sonicelectonix.com) less then the MTX and way nicer on both counts

also check out image dyanmics for subs. I loved mine and with 400 wrms it'll really sing.

with 125wrms per chan you are really going to be wasting that power on a pair of 6.5" coaxials. your midrange/midbass and front stage is where you should put your money; in my honest opinion. You could go the 'fej route' as i like to call it and piece together your own components but you have to either follow in someones footsteps or know what youre doing (or be willing to spend money on switching out pieces) or you can buy a prepackaged set of speakers and be done with it. For instance getting some cdt's or ed 2-way components ~$200 I hate to constantly push ED stuff; but the fact of the matter is that they have some great prices on quality gear (make sure you take advantage of the forum discount pricing) Make sure to sound deaden the front doors (at least) this will give you more midbass and improve your soundstage.

I think you might be right, after listening to the Infinity's they are kind of bright when turned up. I'll have to run the same test on the Polks. I had some JBL's in my home theater and ended up replacing them due to how bright they were. And I don't want to do that again.

After more research I think I will end up putting the edead stuff in the trunk and Dynamat on the doors.

Thanks for the feedback guys, please keep them coming.
