My 91 coupe has bose cd /tape and the cd and tape and radio all work but the speakers make terrible noises sometimes and sometimes they sound ok. I've heard the amps blow in them or something like that. I was wondering where I should get this fixed? and what is the best way to do it? Can you send them out or should you buy new and from where and how much?
I have had both the front and rear amps in my '91 coupe repaired by Dr Don's.
They are highly recommended in many posts on this forum for amp and other audio repairs.
Quick turnaround at a fair price.......and from what you describe it certainly sounds like your amps. Check out their website at www.doctordons.com and give them a call to discuss your problem they will be glad to assist.
I just had all 4 of my coupe's speakers/amps refurbished by "factory car stereo repair" http://www.carstereohelp.com/
Price was about the same as the rest, only took about 7 -10 days total from when I shipped them out to getting them back. Also the website had a LOT of good info on testing, removing and installing...
I sent my 2 bad amps in rear 94 conv to factory stereo help in FL. Repaired and sounds great-thought I was home free! Decided a day later to try CD player. It sucked in the disc, didn't play and would not eject. Had suggestions to try various things because then stereo would not play with disc in. Just about gave up after half day trying and all of a sudden disc popped out! Have not tryed again. Had Bose systems in other cars-no problems but it must be the "Delco" influence! Any ideas? Or just stick to radio. It is a stock one owner that had 21000 miles on it kept in an air conditoned garage so I want to keep it stock if possible.
