Another C4 Bose Thread
1) Up until 3 days ago, everything on my Bose Gold (93 vintage) worked fine. Then, I began noticing (intermittently) a sort of static/hiss sound, whether in FM, AM or CD mode, engine running or not. It does not change even when I rapidly cycle among the modes, and appears to be all four speakers. Otherwise, the signal (music, voice, whatever) still comes through fine. Today, about 2/3 of the time sounded fine, 1/3 got the static/hiss sound. Two days ago, the CD player started rejecting CD's and giving the Err message. Shortly thereafter, it ate a CD and the sound went dead. Hit the eject button and it popped out, but got sucked back in. Did it again and quickly yanked out the CD.
So, have I hit the quinella? (CD player and all 4 Bose amps crapping out more more less at the same time?) or could it be something else?
2) Assuming the worst for my Bose, does anybody have experience with these folks? Found on EBAY and very good price..............

Thanks!!!
I guess I would tackle this in stages ( assuming you fix the Blose) get the headunit done first.. Then move to the speakers, keep in mind there is a Tuner/controller that could also be bad that is not part of the headunit..
if it were me, I would remove the speakers and headunit (controller) put it in a box, and replace with all aftermarket. if you just want sound then get a decent deck and the Factory NON-Bose speaker mounts and install some aftermarket speakers.. ( 4x6 and 6x9) will fit in the NON-Bose mounts
If it was me, I would visit Tweeter and get a new system... which, is exactly what I did....
