I lost the AM reception on my radio. I recently saw a post discussing this problem and possibly the wire became loose. I'm unable to locate the write up. Can anyone help.
Thanks
Nick
This seems to be a common problem with all the head unit's i've installed. All i can offer on the subjec its DO NOT i repeat DO NOT, buy one of those "antenna amplifiers". They don't work worth a poo.
Does anyone know how much of a current draw is on that 5v wire. I was thinking something as simple as a resistor could be used. IE if the power draw was only say 100ma then you could drop the 12v source down to 5v using a 70 ohm resistor. 7v(difference)/.1(current). I have already removed my factory radio or I would try to test the draw.
The problem is, it was doing it with the STOCK system, dealership claimed radio, after 3 different radios (known to be working properly) still had no AM in system, I decided to dump the stock system.
The thread posted may be a problem also, but I obviously have another problem as well.
