do you really want me to reply to this? you know what my vote is. as far as your concerns. the only one that may be an issue is boot time. it's not that bad though. for it it was such a non issue that i haven't even tried to optimize it for ultra fast booting

have you had any issues with the hard drive? What kind of hdd do you have and did you do anything special to mount it?
well they say to get a 2.5" laptop hd and mount it so the plates spin vertically.
i have a 3.5" regular desktop drive mounted horizontally and haven't had a problem. i'm using a relatively inexpensive hitatchi drive as well. you can pick up 300 gb refurbed hard drives for $50 if you look hard enough. what i'd do... if i was smart, i'd get one of those and image my harddrive in case anything happened. then if do have a failure (which isn't very comon) then you just throw the back up in there or get another drive and make another image and toss that in.
