Default Adding Tweeters to C5???

I think I'm going to add some tweeters to the stock Bose CD HU in my C5. Can anyone give me some more specific info on where to tap into the wiring harness on the HU? I'm thinking of mounting the tweeters in the A-pillar. Can you just pull off the A-pillar to get inside it to run the speaker wire down to the HU?

Thanks for all the help,

The following wires are for the front Bose Twiddlers. Be sure to trace the wires back to the specific pin on the large C1/C2 siamese connector on the back of the HU. GM re-uses the same colors for wires in the same harness.

RF- C1(1) GRY

I tapped off the rear speakers for the tweeters I added to the A Pillars. The wiring was simple. Since I never use the Fader control, it really didn't matter. Next best thing to do to a stock system after a subwoofer. I also replaced the stock rear units with Infiity Reference 652i units. They drop straight in and the tweeter rotates for better imaging. I don't know if there is a signal difference of tapping at the HU vs doing what I did, but it sounds really good compared to stock.

The rear grills pop off, so don't hassle with trying to remove the entire plastic trim piece the rear grills are in.

When you add a "4" ohm tweeter and it's crossover in parallel with the front 3.5" Bose Twiddlers, the amplifier will see a more complicated load. The impedance that the amplifier will see will be very low where the two speakers overlap in frequency response. The front 3.5" Bose Twiddler will have a frequency response similar to any add on tweeter. In reality it may be best to put the add on tweeter in parallel with the rear 5.25"/6.5" Bose Twiddler wires. The rear Twiddler is a mid range speaker. Putting a tweeter and crosover in parallel with it will mean very little overlap in the frequency response of the two speakers. The amplifier will not have to supply as much current at a specific frequency to both speakers at once, so it will run cooler and produce less distortion. Since all four speakers are in the same harness and connector, I am now going to list the rear speakers color codes. Remove the HU to get at it's harness.
