My Bose radio died todayin my 1996 conv.. I replaced the amp unit about a month ago from vette to vette. Worked great until today. Everthing on the head unit went dark. Both fuses (4 and 40) were OK. I'm getting power into my amp unit but not getting the 14volts out (from the amp) to the head unit.
Any ideas on what I might check????

Sounds like you are talking about the CDM not the amps. Did the same thing happen with your first CDM or was it a different problem?
If different, then sounds like you need to talk to v2v about the CDM they sold you.
This is assuming that nothing came loose, like Bogus said.

The first CDM unit had water damage. That problem is fixed and everything is dry.Yes, it is the receiver I replaced. All the connections and power were ok.One thing I did notice was there was no 14 volts out which goes back to the head unit. The only thing that comes on in the head unit is the clock which stays at 1 time - 10:16.
The head unit has a battery in connection as well as 14 volts from the CDM.
Does the 14 volts from the CDM ( which is 0 V now) power the head unit?
so there is no power coming out of the CDM? I would think it's time to inspect all the connections at the harness, and be sure there isn't a bad wire somewhere.
otherwise, the repaired CDM fried. I don't think there is an internal fuse or anything, so I would send it back for another check...
Yes. Power and ground to the CDM unit are OK.
The used CDM unit I put in 3 weeks ago worked great.. I got into the car the other day and turned the stereo on with a CD in and it was playing fine. I was changing tracks when I hit the COMP button on the head unit and heard a CLICK and everything went dead. So now I'm trying to figure out if it's the head unit or the CDM. The only suspicious thiing is I'm not getting 14 volts (getting 0 volts) out of the CDM unit that goes to the head unit.
Any ideas????
Pretty sure there is no external relay controlling the head unit.
Check and see if the +12 and gnd from the CDM to the HU are good.
I'm guessing here that the +12 is always provided by the CDM and the +14 is provided when the HU switch is turned on. I'll check that on my car later and post what I find.
If my theory is true, then if you find +12/gnd out of the CDM to be bad, then it's probably the CDM, but if they are good, it could be either the CDM or the HU.
