Is the quality of sound between these two that much different? I'm currently using the cassette adapter and the constant running of the motor is annoying unless I crank it up.
I use the cassette adapter and don't even notice if the motor is running. I run the ipod at 3/4 volume and adjust from there with the h/u. I've used the modulator, imo it's junk, but the cassette adapter at 3/4 volume makes the speakers actually sound decent til my install is done.
The cassette adapter is the better of the two. If your cassette is making too much noise, it is likely the adapter you have. Try a new one, they aren't that expensive. Or, bite the bullet on an IPAC like this one...
Almost all FM modulators I have seen throughout the years sound like crap. Before I put a CD player in my rover, I used a MP3 player and a tape adapter and it sounded better than listening to the radio.
i agree, every fm modulator or whatever its called has sounded like crap. my previous car had both the cd and the cassette player. Dont ask me why infiniti had put in a cd changer in the dash with a cassette player(maybe becuase old people still listen to tape ) But the cassette player sounded WAY better than the fm ever did.
