Default C5 radio mystery "light"

To the upper right of the volume **** (less than 1/8 inch) there is what appears to be a light. I purchased the car brand new in 2003 and there have been no mods. This "light" has never lit up and apparently does nothing. Does anyone know what is and if it has any use? It appears in the manual photos but there is no text concerning it. The stereo works perfectly but I don't what this thing is for and it is driving me crazy!

Its actually a button, push it with a needle and it self destructs!!

Just kidding. I would assume its a theft/security light or something. Never paid any attention to mine.

If it is blinking when the car is shut down it indicates the Delco theft-lock is engaged.

Thanks for the input. I remember reading about the THEFTLOCK in the manual but I never activated it.
