AFAIK, they are a direct bolt in... however, they will not support much more than a stock replacement. They have no real depth, and they are designed for a 5x7 speaker... just so you know.
What if I put a piece of .25" MDF over it and cut out from there?
That was the plan anyway. I can fab the mount out of MDF but it would be much easier (not that I'm lazy ) to mount MDF and then cut to specs.

Just build mounts. You can find plenty of example pictures in this section.
If you can get non-Bose mounts, that would be an easier starting place, but they are a fairly rare option to start with, and most people who have that system and replace the stereo probably re-use the mounts anyway.
