Default Things that make me go "hmmm...."

Last nite, the wife and I go to the Staples Center to watch the Clippers (they lost, damnit) play the Seattle Super Sonics.

Going through the convention center parking lot is sometimes like going through an exotic car show... the odd Ferrari, Lambo, Rolls, etc... we have even seen TWO Mercedes-McClaren's. I am not kidding - TWO separate cars. Insane.

Last nite, we saw this yellow Lambo Gallardo. It's window was open, so I peeked in... you know, when someone spends that kinda coin on a Italian supercar, why the **** do they put a POS stereo in it? The head unit was a brand I could not make out, and the subs were some cheezy Kickers... If I spent $175k on a car, I think I could unass more than $3k for the audio... I have seen this car before, I will try to see more next time.

The subs were in enclosures right behind the seats, rather high up, too... the only thing I could figure, the subs had yellow surrounds, so they sorta matched the paint... yippie.

I agree with you but what I learned is just cause someone has money doesnt mean they wanna spend it.

When I installed one of the neighborhoods near out store was a pretty upperclass area and some of these ppl would want the elcheapo crap

I suspect it's a level of importance, too... they don't get it... it also means money does not mean knowledge.

I went to a friends wedding reception. It was at his mom and step-dads house. They were living the middle class dream, all the way. And she was SO proud of her "success." I have never seen so much Emerson junk in one place... ugh...

Money also does not mean taste.

I have a few friends of friends that have their house filled with expensive - but seriously ugly things. Same with car stereos and expensive cars.

It is all relative bro. Look at the people that dropped $3k on playstation 3's on ebay. To them their kids happiness on christmas morning is worth 3k. To me my logical side says wait 6-8 months and pick one up for $400.

Some people regardless of status in life just do not "get it". Most of those types come from wealth and never got the grasp on reality like they should have.

Stuff like Jensen/Kraco HU's and amps in high end cars just baffles me too.

the worse part? I think they pick those head units cause they LOOK blingy... not because of any percieved value or low price, they have glitz... what they have is "tacky" all sewn up.

In reality, what they spend on those systems, if they were to, say, double their investment, it would result in a killer system, that REALLY sounded great... but not look nearly as tacky...
