I'm going to put an Alpine CDA-9856 or 9857 in my 91 vert. although I will miss the total amber light effect.

My deck lets me choose the color of the lights, so I still have the amber effect!

I went with the 9857 back in June.
Good choice!

I replaced my stock unit with an alpine 9845 I think it was. It has programable lights. Amber being one of the colors.

I went with Kenwood DPX-301(double-din) fits like a glove!! Got the idea from Nathan Plenoms who did the same to his vette(he's got pictures of how it looks)

I have a Sony + adapter plate
The plate has a little storage bin in it.
You can buy a deck with usb or aux input and put your MP3 player in the storage.
Check the audio section

Here's the Clarion I put in my 91. I used the Metra install kit that has a pocket under the HU. You can also change the illumination to a bunch of different colors and one of which is almost spot on for the amber dash lights.

That Kenwood install looks slick and is just the way I want to go. Did you install yourself, if not what would you expect an install like that to cost?
