How does the AVIC sound with the Metra Bose adapter? I dont really want to spend the money on an amp/speakers/sub right now so im hoping that it will be at least as good as the stock head unit for now.
will it retain the bose sub and all? how does the onstar work?
is the pac steering wheel controller pretty functional still?
i read allot on AVIC411 but there is almost too much over there to weed thru on the Z1.
Hey Brian, I have the Kenwood version with the built in Dolby 5.1, all the bose stuff will still work fine. I don't believe the onstar will still work. As for the steering wheel controls, yes they will work, but you will need to add a relay and I am not sure of the name, but it is a very small infared eye that when you touch one of the controls on the steering wheel it sends a signal to the eye and then the eye sends the signal to the radio. But if you have any questions, I know Neil can help, seeing as how he did the one in my truck, which is a silverado like yours.

metra makes a bose/onstar adapter that is supposed to keep all of that working and PAC makes a pioneer/sony interface for the steering wheel also. i hope it all works when its done, i like everything to be like factory.
