Hello, I am about to install an amplifier and I need the wiring diagram at the back of the head unit. Does anyone know if it is printed on the head unit, or where I can get the diagram? Thanks.
I called Crutchfield and they gave me the following information:
Left Front Spkr (-) Light Gray White w/ Black Stripe
Left Front Spkr (+) Tan White
Right Front Spkr (-) Light Green Gray w/ Black Stripe
Right Front Spkr (+) Dark Green Gray
Right Rear Spkr (-) Light Blue Purple w/ Black Stripe
Right Rear Spkr (+) Dark Blue Purple
Left Rear Spkr (-) Yellow Green w/ Black Stripe
Left Rear Spkr (+) Brown Green
I've connected the AMP harness to the back of the HU with the above information and it looks correct. I do not see the wires that are called out by 99HT. Maybe my '01 Z06 has different wiring?
Anyways, I have not connected the AMP yet, so please tell me if I'm about to make a terrible mistake with the connections listed above. I'm assuming that these signals are speaker level outputs that go straight to the front and rear speakers.
For the C5, the Bose Twiddler speaker color codes on the back of the HU wired to the C1/C2 siamese connector are as follows. The term black stripe is sometimes confusing in a GM vehicle. Always confirm the wire function by checking the wire color AND associated connector pin info.
RR+ C2(18) DK BLU
RR- C2(17) LT BLU
LR+ C2(20) BRN
LR- C2(19) YEL
RF+ C1(2) TAN
RF- C1(1) GRY
LF+ C1(4) LT GRN
LF- C1(3) DK GRN
The start of this posting gives no info about what year/make of vehicle and the system in it. This is required to give proper answers.
P. S.
You should never connect an amp to the speaker outputs of the Bose HU unless you only want high frequencies. All the Bose twiddlers are driven by the HU internal amp. The HU internal amp is fed by the BSP which has a 1khz crossover. Use the pre-amp outputs to feed an amp. Use the speaker outputs to feed add on tweeters. Never connect to the two subamp interfaces.
If you are adding an amp, tap the HU pre-amp outputs. You will get the lowest distortion, un-filtered signals there. Your external amp will have the crossover in it, don't bother with the Bose Signal Processor.
