Amp Wiring in C6
Remove battery, pull back carpet in passenger footwell where fuses are located (so that you can see fuses), remove plastic cover that holds the domelight in the footwell (above foot, below glove box), disconnect the light and set plastic cover aside.
With battery removed, if you look behind the battery on the firewall, there should be a factory rubber grommet that you can pop out and run your wire into the footwell fuse compartment. If you have a hard time finding it from the engine compartment, look from inside the footwell fuse compartment (on your back), upper right side, on the firewall. You will see the large factory wire harness that goes through the firewall into the engine compartment.
Grounding point.
Remove bottom half of "B" pillar. You will see a large "torx" bolt that holds the seat belt mechanism to the car, go ahead and use that, it's a good solid grounding point.
Take your time with the wires through the firewall, it may seem difficult, the best way I found to do this is to run the wire from inside the car to the outside, you'll be under the dash on your back. I've ran three sets of 4 gauge this way without a problem.
Hope this helps!
Hoping the pics are working, but if you see red x's now by the end of the day they should be pics (internet issues here in the office).
Looking at the firewall, battery tray at bottom of pic:

Here's a link to my install thread where I detail the whole process.

, but it seems to have made the panels sound a little more dead. Curious to how much more quiet it will be cruising down the road. I will post up some pics tomorrow afternoon. __System__
Head Unit - Apline DVA-7996
Monitor - Alpine TME-M760
Ipod Interface - Alpine KCA-420i
Amp - JL Audio 500/5
Front Speakers - Focal 165 K2P
Sub - JL 10 Stealthbox
It all started out like this.

After a few hours, the seats, carpet, center console and door panels were out.

Time to go the the Christmas party for work. =)

Day 2---
Spent around 8 hours getting Dynamat Xtreme applied to the doors, floor and tunnel. Talking about a boring job.

Even the cool CNC speaker plates got covered.

So my original idea was to install my Alpine head unit in the dash along with a monitor. Basically I was going to remove the ashtray and fabricate everything in like I has in my Z06.

Running the power wire and fuse block.

Time to start laying out the amp rack for the 500/5.

Well...Major turning point in the project. I couldn't find a few pieces I needed for the monitor and needed a solution soon. After searching around, I decided to take the easy way out. My fiance brought me home this today.

So, I'm about 2 full days into this. Most of the wiring is complete, Dynamat is almost done "I needed a little break!". More pics to follow as it progresses.
