I will be instaling a Alpine IVA-W200 in my c6. I enjoy listening to movies when I drive long distances. I would like to keep the car looking as stock as possible (meaning no massive amp racks with huge subs) but with pretty good sound. I was thinking about putting ed sq-10's in the doors, Boston Acoustics S35 for the doors and dash. I am considering the MRA-D550 for the surround sound amp. At this point I am up in the air about the rear speakers.
Any input on the is set up?
I haven't seen anybody put the subs in the door, will this give decent sound?
i think 10" subs are a little large (especially if you're going to fabricate an enclosure) JL audio makes a 8" w3 that sounds like it would work for the doors quite well.
as for the rear speakers i'd suggest an interesting Idea. Use component speakers and mount the tweeters high on the rear side panels or even on the roof.
True subs in doors are going to take a serious effort in the "sound deadening" arena, meaning sound deadener to reduce rattles, and some combination of closed cell foam and possibly expansion foam to seal the doors themselves up and reduce vibration/resonance. Frequencies from about 60hz and down move a fair amount of air and produce a lot of vibration .. those 10's in the doors will certainly do pretty well for bass reproduction but they will also shake your window regulators .. your door lock mechanisms etc etc.
I think you would be better off putting a solid 8" midbass (Seas, Peerless, or Morel elate 9") and letting them gently roll off at about 63hz on say a 6 db slope than you would to try and put true subs in your doors, even though they may fit there is a lot of work that accompanies subs in doors.
But hey if the challenge and your skills, or pocket book match up, more power to you I think it would be cool

I don't recommend an 8W3 in an infinite baffle application like this. Unless you want to give up window roll-down and build enclosure, you do want to go there

You can go with this for your subwoofer needs: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...hp?fit_id=1531
You can follow the links on that page to the evolution product that fits the factory locations as well.
"Surround sound" doesn't really work in a car without alot of processing and custom fabrication for speaker locations. Bag this idea and go for a quality two-channel system if you want a rewarding sonic experience while maintaining the stock look.
Good luck with your system.
