Easiest thing to do is buy a PAC AOEM-GM24, they run $40-50 depending on where you get it. This will give you RCA outputs (use the front and leave the rear unplugged) that you can connect a sub amp to. Many people have used this to their satisfaction, however I will detail in the next paragraph why I don't think it's the best solution.

All of the PAC interfaces use this generic OEM-1 box with different harnesses on either end for different cars. When I used one I was hearing something that was bugging me... real time analysis of the output of that OEM-1 box revealed that it is equalizing the signal! Worse than that, it is ROLLING OFF BASS, which means that as the frequencies get lower it is DECREASING the output. This makes it rather self-defeating for use as a source for sub signals.

OK, so what's the solution... well if you can manage to find one, the harness-only portion of that PAC box breaks out the left & right, front & rear outputs from the stock heads (all 3 variants). The signal coming out of the stock heads is low level so there's no conversion of any sort required. All you have to do is splice in some female RCA's and you have your output. The harness only portion is part ADD-GM24 from PAC. Alternatively you can just tap into the factory harness wires and do the same, just depends on how you want to approach it.

At the top of this section you will see a C6 FAQ. In the first post of that FAQ you will find a link to a place that sells the harness by itself and also a thread titled "Bypassing the PAC AOEM..." that I wrote up. Really depends on how into audio quality you are. I'm rather insane about it.. so to me all this thrashing around is worth it. YMMV

I wouldn't use the rear output from that harness, use the front. And yes, all the speakers would work, that's the point of the harness - it breaks out the wires for you but leaves the stock connection intact.

If an installer or somebody recommends using the rear SPEAKER wires to tap into for signal via a line output converter do NOT follow that advice. The rear signal to the Bose system is mono and very low level, you won't get much output.

Don't the door chimes come out of the front outputs? Would that make a difference when hooking up an amp for a sub?

It would, and that's a good point, but using the filter built into most sub amps to only have the sub play below a certain frequency is a good idea anyway and will filter out the chimes.

Does this apply to non-nav bose systems also? I have an '06 bose with the built in changer.

Only difference between NAV and non-NAV is the head unit so it all applies.
