Here's the bezel after getting it back from Leather Magic. They did a great job, but the finish is kind of soft, so you have to be careful not to scratch it. Maybe it will harden with time.

This is a pic of my custom AV background:

All in all, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Try avic411.com, there are faq's on how to create disc images with custom backgrounds. If I remember correctly, you basically have to rip the factory DVD, integrate your own image and burn the new image to a DVD.

Much simpler than that. Just create a specific folder called background and put .jpg files in there. Burn a regular CDR and you are good to go - no DVD rip needed.

avic411.com has the specifics folder name.

That is only for the AVIC-Z1. For the D1 and D2 you need to create an ISO of the original navi DVD, convert your JPGs to PIM format and inserted into the ISO. If you have a dual layer DVD burner you're set. If not then you have to delete some points of interest to make them fit. I can't speak for the N1/2/3's as they only have one slot for the navi DVD or other DVD or CD so maybe it's easier but I would think they still need to be converted to PIM format.

AVIC411.com does have all the info. Be sure to use the new java PIM converter, it's much better.

PS: If anyone has a D1 or N1 and needs the latest and greatest navi DVD (CNDV-60) I have some copies.

Can someone please PM me or post the measurements needed for the bezel. I am having C5KIDD do mine but don't have the measurements for the bezel opening for him to fabricate.

Mr. Blue-Nice! I want to do the same in my 2004 coupe. Can you give me some information on the prices involved? I want to have the screen flush like you have in the photo-it looks better, and doesn't get in the way of the a/c vents, which we definitely use in Arizona!

looks great. it is a bit soft but it'll cure and get a lot harder. i marred my first onewhen i slammed it against the wall (doh!) but they were cool enough to give me a bottle of touch up paint (for $4 i think ) and no one could tell it had a blemish
