I just hoked up the above system in my 1998 Vette. I followed all the FAQ and checked out the 411 information site.
My question concerns the GPS. I loaded the East coast disk and when the map pops up it shows I am located in Los Angels CA. I have gone through the manual hit every option on the unit....Why does it show that I am in CA and not in FL?????
Also concerning the time.....you can only input plus three or minus three ...From what I read it is based on the time in CA (Pacific time).....but when I put in plus 3 ....it still shows the wrong time.....What do I need to do.
A few things....I am testing the unit by sitting in my garage with the engine off......Do I need to drive the car to get it to show that I am in FL? Does the engine need to be running? I have a great signal according to the strength meter..

I don't know why it would tell you that you have great strength but I also don't know how your GPS antenna would read the sats from INSIDE the garage! GPS is a line-of-sight thing, not like a radio. The antenna has to be able to SEE the satellites to know where it is. Pull the car out of the garage, soon as it can see, the map will update.
