2 questions about a head unit
Jensen In-Dash Multimedia Receiver (VM9021TS)
Does anyone have this headunit? Are Jensen products any good? back in the day (man that makes me sound old) I would have dropped $3000 on a head unit without batting an eye but now I seem to be more interested in going fast as opposed to being loud. However I was in Circuit City over the weekend and started missing having a aftermarket stereo.
Next question is, about the Bose system. If you install an aftermarket head unit can you by pass the factory amps and run the speakers off of the head unit? or do you need to replace the speakers as well??
Car is a 2001 C5
I also still have 2 9000 Watt 12" subs, a couple 1000 Watt Clarion Amps and a sony 4 channel.

In my opinion, Jensen is probably one of the worst brands in car audio that you can purchase. You're better off spending a little more and getting a Pioneer, Alpine or something similar.
In my experience, you can run the front 3.5" and rear 6.5" speakers off the aftermarket head unit, but the front 8" speakers will not work. This is for a C5 by the way

by the sounds of it, im thinking you would like to change everything out. with a new headunit you might as well take advantage of the better HU quality by changing the speakers and adding an amp with subs.

I have an 02 z06 I looking to put the AVIC-Z1 in I need help I cant find any way to get that 1 1/2 din to a dual I have seen it done though. Also what speakers is everyone running I dont want to take my door apart to see the options. I want to go with A W6 10" sub in the back with the custom encloser that drops in the center of the trunk. It has .8 air space which is pefect for that sub. A JL 500watt mono amp. and I was thinking either MB quarts, Polk, Focal (If I can afford the Focal) Componets up front and a co axel in the back. But I dont know what size speakers I can run in this car I am sure I will have to make them fit but any help would be great. Thanks
