Bose Stereo System on 1996?

Bose Stereo System on 1996?
I have a 91 and have replaced or repaired every component of the Bose Stereo System, at least once. Got good at it over time.
Now, I have a friend who has a 96 Coupe who has asked me to fix his. He has no manuals and I'm not about to spend my money on 96 manuals, to fix his car. So, I was wondering, those of you with 96 coupes, knowledgable in the workings of the stereo system, could you tell me if the systems are basically the same??? I have determined that (if it were my 91) the receiver would most likely be the problem, based on what I have discovered so far. Of course his receiver is not located where mine is (under my dash). I have located what appears to be his receiver in the rear compartment but am not sure if all the components on his 96 perform the same function as on my 91. Can anyone confirm or shed light on the differences.
