We'll be replacing the stock Bose H/U on our '01 'vert soon with an aftermarket MP3-capable H/U, and taking the stock trunk cd-changer out with it.
I was wondering where does the cable that connects the stock H/U to the stock cd-changer run, and is it easy to remove with removing half of the interior in the process? If anyone has any photos from their own installs of where the cable runs I'd appreciate it (and any heads-up you may have to headaches while removing it).
If this is something that means popping out the interior or something along those lines, I'll probably just hold off, as we're talking about building up a carPC for the car sometime down the road, and that will require running wiring back up to where the H/U is at.
im pretty sure if your car came with it stock its wrapped around 80million other wires when I did an install over the summer I was gonna pull the cable out for the customer but it seemed like it wasnt gonna be easy so we opted to leave it in
Good enough, thanks for the input. Mainly interested since we're looking into putting a carPC in at some point, so if it had made sense we were going to route it along the same line as that cable (the changer's location is the *perfect* place to mount a carPC).
it morealess runs down the passenger side of the car but if i recall its a PIA to take out. There is tons of room to run wires in the vette so dont worry about that
