ideally, alonng the same firing axis as the companion woofer is the best. However if your woofer is not well aimed at your head, mounting the tweeter near the woofer and aiming it at your head is the next best thing.
some people put the tweeters in teh A pillars which raises the sound stage, but IMO sounds funny.
