excellent. What I'm wanting to do is build a custom speaker mount where i can tilt the woofer towards the driver at between 30-45 degrees to get a more on-axis response.
While the Speakers i'm using have a crossover that claims to have a phase and axis correction, i'd like to minimize their simulated effect.
like dave said in that pic the tweeter is damn close to the bottom of the speaker grill but it doesnt touch... id say .25" or less between tweeter and door panel... Dave now I know why you wanted a link to the pics

yup....i figured its always easier with a pic. the reference points are nice.
It is actually a bit more at the top of the panel, but that is not likely to help much with aiming/imaging. And it is quite hard for me to believe that a passive crossover helps a measureable amount with "axis" correction. Factory locations are factory locations, almost all of which have shyt for aiming.
I have a 3" DLS dome at the top of my panel and still have a good 1"+ of clearance from the grill, but again part of the face of the dome sits behind the door panel swoop above the factory grill location anyway.
I may end up trying to do a small bracket to push it down and out a touch provided that I have the room to make it happen and improve the imaging / stage height.
