I'm in the process of installing a powered subwoofer in my C6. I disconnected the radio/CD unit (Bose) to add an adaptor cable (PAC ADD GM24). After running all the wires I but before hooking up the subwoofer, I reconnected the battery and attempted to play a CD to get a base-line for a "before" and "after" comparison with the subwoofer. When I tried to turn on the head unit, nothing happened.
So I backtracked, removing the adaptor cable between the head unit and factory cable, and reconnecting the factory cable....... and still nothing.
Is there some sort of anti-theft protection that disables the radio/CD once it's been disconnected? Any ideas?
I have the same problem I am trying to find out how to hook a head unit up to the factory stereo. If I find information out Ill try to let you know but if you find info please do the same. thanks

I have disconnected and reconnected my head unit more times than I care to remember at this point and not had that problem, so there's no anti-theft feature like that. So I would do the basic troubleshooting as recommended by DPG, make sure your fuses are OK.

To replace the factory head unti you need a couple of modules to maintain chimes and send the signals the factory amp will require to turn on, etc. There are a few options, but here's a link to Peripheral's application guide:
