Thanks guys, hopefully I'll have the fiberglass done by this weekend. I plan on covering the top with the same color carpet thats in my car. Im just not sure if the carpet will take the shape of the box easily. Do you guys have any tips? Maybe I should cover it in a different material like vinyl. I thought about painting it the same color as the car too but that just seems like a ton of work. What do you guys think would look the best?

depends on how you feel your skills are. I think carpeting is more forgiving to uneven surfaces. Painting or vinyl will require very smooth surfaces... at least that's what I've been told. If you are going with a color scheme throughout the interior of the car, then I think paint would be best. If the the box is the only thing in the interior that is the same color as the car body, then I think it would stick out like a sore thumb... just my $.02...
i vote for oem carpet unless you can make a filler piece so the sub box butts up the black piece on the car. if you could do that then i'd say either black vinyl or oem carpet would both look good.
Im guessing the volume is going to be about 1.2ft for each side. So I'm hoping the polyfill will add a little bit more volume. If you look in the pics, you can see that I made a false bottom where the amps will sit so that added a little bit more volume for the subs.
I think at this point I'm still going with oem carpet. I think it will look the best. Like you guys have said though, its going to be a pain to stretch it over the curves.
Did you consider coating it with a thin layer of bondo or something?
What did you put inside the box? Any deadener?
The construction is impeccable! Very well done!
Thanks for the kind words! I didn't use any bondo. It was pretty smooth. I
sanded a few spots but that is it. The only thing I was going to put in the box is that polyfil stuff. What other kinds of sound deadener can I put in there and how will it benefit me?
The carpet it black. I wanted to cover it in the same color carpet as the rest of my car but I needed a carpet that would stretch. I think is still looks pretty good. I'll have to get some pictures of it in the day.
The install is almost complete. I just have to make a cover for the amps with plexiglass and some neon lights.
