I'm sure it would be possible to get an alternator to do that, but you'd have to talk to the guys building it. Rush powersystems builds their own alternators and tests them. i'm sure you could get them to build you a custom one.

Glad to hear everything is working as it should. I never had any problems with my high output alternator either, that is once I had somebody build it who knew what they were doing, lol.
I got mine from Ebay (forget which business) just look up "ground foot: or "grounding foot". they also make one that has 2 mounting points but one is enough for me.
i don't know if you need a $300 battery tender. The one I got for $30 does a great job and I have mine mounted permanently and all I have to do is pop the hood open and hook up an extension cord to it and I'm good to go
Not sure if the battery you have requires a different kind of tender, but I don't see that it should
DPG: do you have pics of that? my mom's 98 sits for long periods of time and somtimes it needs a jump. the garage is setup in a way that makes this a pain unless we push it out.
where did you get yours and where did you mount it.

Got mine from murrays and its just called a battery tender. Its a little black box with ring connectors that are connected to the terminals. It has 2 LEDs. One that says charging. The other a red one once it's been charged. Its a floating kind so that it doesn't over charge the battery. Its done a nice job this winter for me. Only time it would get hooked up to power to charge was when my dad went into the garage for a smoke, so its like 20 min a day of charging and that kept it fully charged. I think its something like a 1.2 amp kind. I can get a pic for you tonight
Also, i think willfulon(sp)CCA sells one on his site. Its a little fancier and costs $60? i think.
