Soundgate harness not needed?

Soundgate harness not needed?
So I read a few threads since I ordered my soundgate harness and am wondering if I even need it if I'm ripping out the front bose amps/speakers? Kinda shatty to toss $100 out the window for nothing if I can use the generic gm harness... Anyone know?

if your replacing your speakers and getting rid of the stock speakers all to gether along with the 8" door subs, then no, you dont need it.

Technically speaking it's useful if you don't want to hack apart your stock harness for the power / antenna and a few other misc things, but if you're going all out it's probably not necessary.
