I just ordered the USA spec Pa11-vette Ipod adapter for my C6 today.
It's supposed to connect directly to the radio in the trunk via the spot where the 6-disc Cd changer accesory would go. Its a digital connection and has auxillery inputs for other devices as well. Supposed to allow you to control all the playlists upfront from your cd controls. Says you can make up to 5 playlists I believe.
I have that unit right now. If you have XM, it will plug right into the XM receiver and take over your XM 2 band. I have a vert and mine is under the waterfall. In the coupe I think it's under the carpet by the driver's seat. Will take you about 20 minutes to install including running the cord which I put in the center console.
Tomorrow I'm switching it to the New I-Connect which is supposed to give total integration. I have about 3500 songs, and 5 playlists aren't enough for me.

Let us know if the I connect truly gives total integration. I hate this x playlist crap. I have 4000 songs and want to listen to what I want, when I want. Why can't someone duplicate the IPOD interface on the NAV touch screen??!!
Where did you order iconnect? I thought it was a dealer only offer?
I think the USA Spec should be good for me until I trade in for a 2008
C6..surely to goodness GM will have a direct Native ipod interface by then..they are supposed to have them across the entire GM line by 2007. Fingers crossed. I get jealous when I see my mother in her car with a direct ipod connection under the arm console. CDs sound great, but they are just a mess to carry around and change out. Ipod is cd quality with thousands of songs in one device...so much more convenient, neat, and scratch proof.
Oh and how many songs can you fit per playlist on the USA Spec? If I have to leave my ipod in the trunk..will it work off the cars audio control easy enough?
Why would you leave the Ipod in the trunk? You can control it through the Nav head. Run the wire into your center console and leave the Ipod there. You can also control it through your steering wheel controls. You can put as many songs on a playlist as you want. I have 800+ on one.
bcause the XM receiver on the Coupe is in the very rear end of the trunk area behind the rear bumper. I don't think the cords the USA Spec comes with would be long enough to run from the tail end of the trunk to the arm console.? Maybe if I new the cord type I could order an extra long one and run it?

thanks for the help!
Both posts that indicate the location of the XM module in the coupe are incorrect. The XM module is located above the left rear wheel under the carpet. Open the hatch and just pull the carpet back, you'll see it sitting there in a tray. The tray clips out and you can work it out of there complete and if IIRC without disconnecting anything first.
OK Guys here's the deal. Got the unit today. Took all of 10 min to install. Guess what! It didn't work. After a few phone calls I got everything straightened out. There are 3 units that are very similar.
GMCL21600, GMLN21600, and GMLN31600 (which is the one I received). The correct unit for the 07 Bose Nav unit is "supposed " to be GMLN21600.
JP Customs is great to deal with. They were very helpful and already sent me out the other unit. Should have it mid to end of next week.
That sucks..let us know about the differences between iConnect and USA Spec when u get it installed.
I just got my USA Spec PA11-Vette today. Just got done reading the manual..going to install it tonight after work. Looks like it comes with an extension chord from the Xm receiever to the USA spec unit. That should allow me to run it into the arm rest console.
How hard is it to run the iPod chord up underneath the console/carpet into the console area? Will I need any special tools? I'm worried about being able to pull the iPod chord up under the console and back out into the area where the armrest opens.

Very easy, just have to drill a hole through the inside of the console to let the wire pass through.
