I have use "The Velvet Rope", by 'Janet Jackson'. Why that all of the tracks on that CD are well recorded and off a lot of different freqs that you can use to tune your system. From low bass to high cymbals also stereo enhancment. I don't know what kind of system you have or what type of music you listen to but I do know that her CD is well rounded for any type of music.
in my opinion dont bother with test cd's. listen to what you normally listen to its gonna take some time to get everything dialed in. more then once on the way to work id pull over to adjust the amp a little or dick with the eq on the radio

I always did the samething on older cars, I thought it was just a bad tune. I change styles of music so much, but I listen to hard rock mostly.
IASCA test disc. Check out sheffield labs "drive". These are really more designed to test specific areas of your system and its tune however. Noise tests, phase tests, stage height and depth tests, tonality tests, midbass tests, sub bass tests etc etc.
They are usually a pretty good reference point to start with, from there small tweaks to suit your style of music, and most importantly your ear, usually get you squared away.
