IPOD2CAR - very easy installation!
First thing I did was remove the mounting bracket for the changer, unplugged it, and removed it.
You set the dip switches on the ipod2car based upon your vehicle. on the vette, it's simply to set switches 3 and 8 to the ON position, all others are off. It explains this clearly and easily in the instruction manual that comes with the unit.
Then I simply plugged in the cable that previously went to my changer into the ipod2car interface. after that, it's just a matter or routing the wiring up to the front or wherever you want to mount your ipod. I ran mine along the right side carpeting and along the passenger seat by the console for now. Once I install a mount for the ipod then I will route the wiring a bit better up front, but it looks fine. I moved the interface into the right side storage compartment so I can get to it if need be.
That's it.. just plug your ipod in, hit the aux button and enjoy! I'll take some pictures for anyone interested, but it couldn't be easier... very simple and easy.
here is where I bought mine: http://www.mp3yourcar.com/product_in...products_id=74

Some people complain that it does not work well with the head unit controls.
as far as the head unit controls, I'm not sure yet. I didn't play around with it much because after I got it installed, I had to get some sleep for work. I've got a playlist that I have set to play random, so I was listening to a couple songs on that. I actually used the control on the ipod when I changed to another song. I'll mess around with the head unit to see if/how the controls on it work. I'm honestly not concerned about that though, because it's just as easy for me to use the control on the ipod itself. I just wanted to get rid of lugging around all my cd's. I will check though.
I will also take some pictures of what I did. I'll try to take them in the morning when I get home.
Here I moved the changer cable over to the right storage area once I removed the changer and plugged in the ipod2car interface:

This is a picture that shows how you simply plug in the connector that you previously had plugged into your changer into the connector for the ipod2car interface:

Here is the interface mounted to the front wall of the right storage bay:

Here is the cable in the front of the vehicle:

I still haven't decided where I'm going to put the ipod, so that's why the cable in the front is just laying there so far. I'm thinking I will likely do like another poster had done and cut a hole in the back of the armrest storage and put it in there. that way it will be completely hidden and also I can access it easily.
As far as operation, it has great sound quality. You can index from song to song via the factory head unit.
The only things I don't like so far : When I first start the car, when I select the aux, I have to hit the play/pause button on the ipod for it to begin playing. It would be better if it autoplayed from the start. It also does not shut off the ipod when the car shuts off, so you have to turn the ipod off each time, which is just a small annoyance.
Overall I'm pleased with it.
they need to create a aftermarket head unit mount that has a built in ipod dock in the extra space that is usually there. something like that would be in huge demand.
