Factory cassette swap to CD ?

It looks like I'm buying a 99 C5 coupe, it has the factory cassette with CD changer. I would like to replace the cassette deck and put a factory CD player in the dash. Is this a plug in style swap or does the CD player require a different harness, also with the in dash CD, can I still keep the CD changer operational ?
