The JL rep said that they have the output of the W3 and the sound quality of the W6. I haven't heard the W6 so I can say if that's good or bad.

looks like the overall design is similar to the stock bose woofers in the door (minus the crap and plus the cone and spider in the back)
as far as the W6 the sound quality is insanely awesome. the W3 puts out respectible power but doesn't really drive like a W6.

If these can be run IB, it would make a good choice for c5 or c6 doors.
I did an install for a friend using JL 6" subs and a set of 4" components in the c5 doors. He was happy enough to not to add a sub.

w6's rock, they are a very fine sq sub.
i bet these subs would work great in the partion/sub box enclosures

thats what i was thinking, only 2.5 inches of mounting depth. But then again if they are 12s they wont fit because the partition area is only about 10.5 inches tall, maybe make them sort of like the vette tray that goes with a partition and just have them firing up
