Dumb question?
Everyone says use 1/4" mdf for door speaker mounting. Around here it is special order and expensive, and I don't need a whole sheet. Is there anything wrong with using 1/4" plywood? I have a pile of that.

1/4 is pretty damn thin, I'd go 1/2 at the minimum.
3/4 ideal.
That said... Yeah, you can use plywood. I'd worry about splinters getting into the speaker motor...
You don't have a home depot or a lowes or anything like that? That's rather surprising.
I bet i have some 1/2" I could dig up for you.

Considering I bought the car without planning any modifications, things are getting out of control! Power is good now, so must be time for sounds. I'm sure I can get 1/2" mdf so I will go that way. Saw pentavolvo's tip in another thread about the Kicker 650-4 amp on Ebay so picked one up for $142. Now to look for speakers.
