Anyone know of a shop where I can get an AVIC-D3 installed in Houston and have it done RIGHT the first time? WOuld like someone who has done AVIC install's on C6's before who knows all the in's and out's. I'd be willing to pay extra to make sure it's done right. Thanks for the help.
It's funny......i read throught that entire thread and there was really no stand out rec's. Either people waiting on responses, or just one person saying they got a good job done. But thanks for the link.

From Philly, best I could do.
Though as I read through that.. most of the hesitation was over price. Looks like there are a couple of top notch installers recommended but the guys were unsure about price. You said you didn't mind paying the money to have it done right....
I spoke with them and they said they have never put any AVIC in a C6. Would like to find a shop that's done it before.
Don't get hung up on asking about any individual unit/brand having been installed. Knowing the car is WAY more important than knowing the head unit. The key for doing a NAV install is knowing where to tap in for VSS, and if you're installing a rear view camera the reverse signal. The rest of it is just car stereo install. If they've installed any double-din NAV unit then the AVIC shouldn't be any trouble.

If you want to try and do it yourself I would be willing to help. I am getting ready to install my Kenwood unit and should be familiar with the car by next week.

He is 100% correct if they have done any NAV in a C6 they are qualified to do an AVIC, all the navs are the same more a less
Daniel- I may be doing that, if I do I would be more than willing to take you up on your offer.
Thanks for the comments from the rest of you guys.
VSS wire- why is it that I see some people tapping this wire in the from left wheel well and some people say you can do it behind the instrument cluster? Wouldn't that be a better place?

They changed the ECM from 2005 to 2006 and on, so that may be the difference. Or it could just be one person found it easier to do one way and another found it easier the other way.. wouldn't be the first time.
