Default JL Stealthbox upgrade - C6

Has anyone though about a better driver for the C6 Stealthbox? The advances have been outstanding over the last year and I believe that the W3 is what is in the box now.

Thoughts please...

Oh yes - I am (will) running the DLS iridium 6.3 set up so below 60-80 hz is where I am looking to enhance.

Looks like they're using the 10W3v2 in it. Recommended sealed enclosure for that is .625 cu ft and the driver has a mounting depth of 5.75". While it doesn't necessarily mean the stealthbox is exactly that, it's probably in the 5/8-3/4 cu ft range. So I'd start my search for drivers that are happy in that kind of space.

I pulled the JLw3v2 from the c6 stealth box and replaced it with a ID 10v.3. I'm running DLS comps too... Iridium 8.2's.

Did you do that because the W3 was blown or because you were unhappy with the sound? How much of a difference did you notice?

Nope, the JL had about 10 hours on it when I pulled it out, it was perfectly fine. I prefer the ID. I feel it has better SQ and dynamic bass response. It also gets lower than the JL, which is where I need it to be. With 8" woofers in the doors, I'm crossed over at about 52 hZ.

The W3 JL was a great start but it certainly was not optimal. Optimizing space and SQL for the C6 still has a way to go.

Stay tuned..

Recommendations are requested!

I wish someone would post the optimal set up before I spend way too much to configure something livable...

Sweet Leo! Did you you the dual two or four ohm version?

No such thing... sound is pretty subjective. But that's what makes the hobby fun (and expensive :-P).
