Don't have pics bro, but I have a 7" midbass and a 3" dome (which is effectively 4") mounted in the factory location. I had to build a raised wood lip that the bottom of the midrange sits on, which in turn sits just on top of the edge of the basket on the 7" midbass.
The top of my midrange is blocked about 25%. Maybe 20%. I think this can be addressed depending upon what midbass you use, and if you are willing to do a bit of custom work on your mounts in conjunction with a little bit of cutting at the bottom edge of the factory speaker hole to lower the entire assembly another 1" or so. As long as care is taken to make sure that the driver and its motor/cone sit far enough away from the bottom of the door skin to prevent contact I think you can make a 7" + 3-4" midrange sit and fire unobstructed. I do believe that you would have to do a bit of work to get the midrange to sit a little bit on top of the 7" frame (stacked for lack of a better word, or spaced somehow while maintaining a seal).

i am planning on angling the woofer which may give me a bit of additional clearance for my tweet (it's a large format tweeter ~3" diam IIRC). that may help you a bit too.
i'm going to be building my pods like you would a sub box baffle...speaker rings and fiberglass.

I see what you're saying... I think 25% blockage shouldn't be a huge problem... I'd be better off with the midrange blockign some of the midwoofer... like a dish hanging down over the mid. I'll have to do some glassing for sure

but seriously its something you can try, the tweeter doesnt block the 6.5's at all. its as easy as just screwing the tweeter with the mounting screws of the 6.5 or whatever you will be using.

as you can see from the second pic, there's just enough room to put a small midrange in the lower-rear area if you used a spacer (aka speaker ring) preferably using a few rings sanded down to make an angled mount:
Here is another idea that keeps the mid bass, mid range, and tweet close together (w/out building a complicated mount). Imaging is good unless you have a passenger
Being with a 3 way, the midbass is less directional in those ranges, a combination of what Radio did with his with the angled midbass mount, albeit a fair amount less, which would allow you to get a bit lower in its position, coupled with a similar mount (probably made of fiberglass) to mount the midrange lower and closer to the midbass, or overlapping like I mentioned earlier, should give you the room to keep it unblocked. As soon as I motivate and stop messing with other projects, I am going to attempt something like I describe in mine to get the midrange a better path through the grill and slightly better imaging as my stage is somewhat low IMO. Even if you get it clean I would probably throw a little ensolite on the back of the panel to keep reflections down.
As for the tweets, I am pretty unhappy with their current location and off axis performance. Hell I need to get up that way and have you take a listen to the LPG's I have for your a pillar location. The only problem with them is they are 8ohms and throw a wrench in your passive crossover plans. Hell you want those things over 5khz if you have them on the pillars anyway. I'm going autocrossing this weekend but shoot me your number via pm and I will see when I can get up that way and we can mess around with some versions of your install.
2200hz is too low for A pillars ... you will run in to too many reflection issues with your vocals that will not be tameable with eq/ta/phase.
A very high percent of succesful A pillar installs start with a crossover point at 5k or higher. With large format tweets and very careful aiming you can get away with lower than 5k, but of the cars I have heard below 5k only 1 car sounded good, and that was at 3khz I believe using the "genesis" spec scan speak 2904/7000 tweet ($800 a pair). It was very, very good, and whats scary is it was untuned; no eq, no time alignment.

Hell at the end of the day you can do whatever the hell you want to do speaker placement wise and crossover wise, just make it sound good to you.
