Dave... nice looking project. Sorry I haven't been stopping in here frequently to see how things are going. Definitely keep up on the pics. I'm interested in seeing the final product.
Mark, Thanks for the suggestion on bits. When I was there I picked up a 1/4" bit, but it doesnt have that wheel on the bottom. Is that important? I can just go and exchange it if I have to.
Dave, Thanks. We've missed you around these parts.
The "wheel" or bearing on those router bits can be helpful as they will keep a constant edge. This helps keep you from going in and out while routing the edge making an uneven round. I think you could rig up a straight edge to have the router fence follow to keep a straight edge too.
I guess we are jacking Daves thread he will understand, since the lucky SOB has the week off so he can wash/wax/play with the Z. I have no idea what I am gonna do, I do have an order for the 13Av.2 but idk if ill even use it or not I got a buddy who would get more use out of it then me. As of now Im sellin one of the 15's and will be running just one for a bit. I think in the end it will be a ported 13ov in there. Part of the problem is I want it under the toneau cover cause I might bring the car to school next year in the fall for a little bit. The 2 15s are way to much and im doing damage to my ears no questions asked and my electrical system cant handle the nine1 at full tilt and I no longer feel the need for this much bass, yes a bass head is gonna cut back.

Im in Grant South its absolutely horriable in this dorm, I got a pimp apartment lined up for next year. I got stuck in Grant becuase my room mate is a freshmen so I had to live in Grant cause hes a freshmen. More a less every other god damn person in this building is on a free ride meaning they dont give a **** about anything and destroy the place. There is a kid on our floor on a football scholariship hes untouchable he gets in trbl and his coach fixes it for him he has partys every nite of the week its rediculous, i called the cops on him last wed nite and a bunch of kids got arrested for possesion etc, of course somehow he was clean. Its my goal to screw him before the year is over haha.
Heh interesting turn to this thread. Penta I would edit your thread to not include quite as much information ... just in case Never know who knows who on the intraweb.

Keep it, and buy the one with the wheel. The one you have now is handy for cutting out circles. Buy the Jasper circle jig kit from Parts Express... it's killer! http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=365-260
You can cut perfect holes from 1" to 18 3/16" diameter... within 1/16th of an inch!
That's how I flush mounted those 7" drivers in my MTM's I posted earlier.
I used the router with the 1/4 bit (like you have now) and cut the outside diameter of the speaker, down about 3/16" of an inch. I then continued cutting 1/4" at a time until I reached the diameter of the driver mounting hole... then plunged down through the wood. The speaker sits in tight, is flush with the cabinet, and looks great.
Also... remember to use hearing protection and safety glasses... routers can get nasty!
I know what you mean. I lived in Stevenson...better overall but we'd get visitors from Ghetto North and Ghetto South (Grant). Seemed like most of the trouble happened in Grant. Best of luck to ya! Party at your apt. next year.
Fasthotrod,
Those homemade speakers look awesome. I need some better woodworking skills.
IMO, if you have a table saw, you can pass on the circular saw. I'd reccomend a band saw or scroll saw instead for precision cutting. The band saw has long been one of my favriote tools.... it's odd that I don't have one, but my neighbor is kind enough to let me use his.
