Baffels?
C6 speaker upgrade - Like everyone else Im going to do either the Boston S35/55 or Kappa upgrade from Crutchfield. No one has mentioned the baffles that they sell. Would you suggest these baffles for the rear 5 1/4 speakers. Crutchfield mentions that it will give more bass. What do you guys think?

I think considering the level those speakers are being fed and the way they're crossed over to the sub it would be a waste of money. If you were or are considering some day re-amping then it might be worth it, assuming the price isn't at the wince point.
Yea, I think your right, thank you. I may just do all 5 speaks myself (baffels in rear) and pay an audio company to re amp.
If you're going to do that be very, very careful about who you use. There's alot of installers that make assumptions because it's an '07 GM that it's the same as the other GM models.. and it's not!
The biggest concern I would have in your plan is that a lazy installer would go the easy route and tap the speaker outputs to get signal to feed the amp. Check the FAQ and be armed with the info that there is easily-accesible line-level signal at the head (and also if you do some wire tracing on the input side of the Bose amp).
If you're going to leave the Bose subs and separately power the Bostons then they will have to choose a cutoff/filter frequency for the 3.5's in the front very carefully.
Save your money on the baffles thing, 5.25's don't make bass, well not enough bass that adding baffles will even matter. They just don't have the cone area. That is one of their 300% markup items that they probably commission on
Careful of what crutchfield recommends, you are talking to someone that likely has limited, if any, install experience and is just regurgitating what the computer screen in front of them states, which when it comes to most "blose" systems in wrong.
don't bother with the baffles. Crutchfield's just selling you BS there. The foam baffles are aupposed to act as a speaker box but the foam isn't ridgid enough to do this. If you want a "Box" for your speaker, your best bet is to build your own from MDF speaker rings or fiberglass.
